Princess Anni-Frid Reuss

When I was a child, I loved the princesses of Fairy Tales. Their dresses and their happy endings enchanted me and, therefore, I also wanted to be a princess.

That time is clearly gone, though. Or not? Well, now I am a great fan of another princess... but she is real! I am talking about our dear Anni-Frid Lyngstad! Or, to be more exact, Her Serene Highness Princess Anni-Frid Reuss Von Plauen!

I guess I have not changed my mind!

This is an extremely rare Frida's picture, in which she appears very different, but also very beautiful. I don't know how old she was in it, but I think Anni-Frid was a teenager at that time.

Kimonos!

The ABBA kimonos are one of the most famous costumes the band wore - even though the group members have worn them only in 1976. 

Hmm, I think this picture was taken shortly after the one above, because it looks like Benny had just received a slap from his beloved one...

... unintentionally, of course!

Home Sweet Home

These are some pictures of two houses in which Benny and Frida lived during their years together.

I love mainly the house in Södra Kungsvägen, in Lidingö, for which they moved in December 1976 and lived there until their separation, in February 1981. In fact, Frida continued to live in that house with her children until early 1982, when she moved alone to London.

This picture from 1978 is a treasure: Benny and Frida standing in the garden of their Lidingö's house, which Frida once said she wanted to make it romantic, working in it with her husband...

In February 1978, ABBA went to London, where the group attended the British premiere of ABBA - The Movie and made an appearance on a children's television program called Blue Peter, among other events.
During the visit, the band members made some pictures at Dorchester Hotel, as you can see on this post.

Note how both couples seemed to be happy. It really didn't look like Björn and Agnetha were about to split up just two months later.

Today is Frida's birthday! She is turning 64 years old! 64 years full of love, integrity and strenght! To celebrate it, I did her a tribute, as you can see on this post.
