If Benny and Frida were still together, they would be celebrating 32 years of marriage today. But their divorce doesn't mean their relationship should be forgotten. They had a great and inspiring love, in which they were not only a man and a woman in love with each other, but also their best friends - what should be the basis of any romantic relationship. I do believe they were what Frida once called the ideal couple.
Even though many people don't think there are such kind of couples, I am sure they may be more common than we guess. Don't think I'm talking about soul mates, as I do not believe in it. I only mean two people can get on really well, if they are disposed to make their relationship work, with a balanced combination of love and good sense. If something goes wrong meanwhile, this kind of relationship is not prevailed to fail, though - what does not mean divorce is the end of the line for a deep and rooted feeling.
Anyway, in order to celebrate this special date, I'm publishing an article about Benny and Frida's marriage with its translate into Portuguese, as usual, to help everyone who has it as his/her mother tongue. Hope you like it.

Even for very close friends it was a complete surprise. Only a couple of days before the event they received an invitation for the big party. But still, it has finally happened... Anni-Frid and Benny from ABBA are married!
Seven years ago, there had been some severe disorder in front of the Verum church in the district Skäne in the south of Sweden. The occasion then was the marriage between Björn Ulvaeus and Agnetha Fältskog. But despite the fact that this was yet another ABBA-marriage, not a living soul could be spotted on Friday October 6 at the rustic little church of the island Lidingö. It was dead quiet. Not because ABBA is less popular now than seven years ago, but only because Benny and Anni-Frid wanted it this way.
Carefully, they had kept their wedding date a secret. Even for close friends of the couple the wedding came totally unexpected. It wasn’t until the last moment that they were called to the big party that Benny and Anni-Frid were hosting at their beautiful residence on the Stockholm island Lidingö, after the ceremony in the church.
Obviously, there had been rumours circulating for quite some time about a possible marriage. But no one really believed it would actually happen. Especially since Benny and Anni-Frid, when asked about it, maintained sternly that the unmarried life they had been leading so far had worked out just fine for them. Only two years ago, roaring with laughter they rejected an offer from an American television company, that wanted to bear the costs of a fairytale-wedding, only if they were allowed to broadcast the happening on the screen.
But just now, when the rumours have died down a bit, it has finally happened. Only family members and close friends were allowed to be a part of it. Reporters and photographers, as far as they were aware of the event, were kept at a distance. Benny and Anni-Frid wanted to have this day all to themselves. And quite rightfully. Congratulations... Benny and Anni-Frid!

Até para os amigos mais íntimos, que receberam o convite para a grande festa somente alguns dias antes do evento, foi uma total surpresa. Contudo, isso finalmente aconteceu... Anni-Frid e Benny, do ABBA, estão casados!
Há sete anos, houve uma enorme desordem em frente à igreja Verum, no distrito de Skäne, ao sul da Suécia, por conta do casamento de Björn Ulvaeus e Agnetha Fältskog. Ainda que, agora, um outro casamento no ABBA tenha ocorrido, nenhuma alma viva pôde ser vislumbrada na pequena igreja rústica de Lidingö, na silenciosa sexta-feira de 06 de outubro. Isso não significa, porém, que o ABBA seja menos popular hoje do que há dez anos; significa, apenas, que Benny e Anni-Frid desejaram ter sossego em seu dia especial.
Na verdade, o casal tomou cuidado para manter sua data de casamento em segredo, o que explica o fato de a cerimônia ter sido inesperada até para os seus amigos mais íntimos. De fato, as pessoas mais próximas só tomaram conhecimento do ocorrido ao comparecerem à grande festa promovida por Benny e Anni-Frid em sua bela casa, em Lidingö, após o casamento na igreja.
É claro que, por um bom tempo, houve rumores acerca de um possível matrimônio. Contudo, ninguém acreditava que isso fosse realmente acontecer, desde que Benny e Anni-Frid afirmaram, quando perguntados a respeito, que sua relação estava funcionando muito bem sem um casamento. Há apenas dois anos, por exemplo, os dois rejeitaram, às gargalhadas, uma oferta de uma companhia americana de televisão, que desejava lhes propiciar um casamento de conto de fadas, com tudo pago, sob a condição de que o casal permitisse a transmissão do evento pela tv.
Mas, justamente agora que os rumores haviam se dissipado um pouco, o matrimônio finalmente ocorreu. Apenas amigos próximos e familiares, contudo, tiveram permissão de participar da festa, enquanto repórteres e fotógrafos, na medida em que estavam cientes do evento, foram mantidos a distância. Benny e Anni-Frid desejaram que esse dia fosse totalmente deles. E com razão. Parabéns... Benny e Anni-Frid!
