It's time to reflect about ourselves

When people think about Christmas, they often think about what they want to get as Christmas gifts, what they want to eat at Christmas dinner and even where they want to go for their Christmas trip. Christmas is everywhere, but almost never related to its truest and deepest meaning, that is Jesus Christ's birth, which implies to celebrate peace, happiness, friendship and, above all, love. It's not necessary to be a Christian to believe it nor to follow this path. We all should remember it and try keeping the spirit of Christmas not only on December 25th, but every single day of our lives.

So what do you think of celebrating this so much special holiday with Frida's Gläns Över Sjö och Strand (Star of Bethlehem, in English)...

... and New Year Eve with ABBA's Happy New Year?

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone!

Endless love...

... is my love for Benny and Frida!

Enjoy more unusual pictures of them.

I don't know where this picture was taken, but, by Frida's hair, it's definitely from 1974

Playing during a photo shoot also in 1974

You give me love, you make me shine!

Benny is 65!

Lots of love, peace, health, happiness and prosperity are the greatest blessings I wish to the kind-hearted human being and talented musician who Benny Andersson is.

Dolls

I would have really liked to have an ABBA doll when I was a child, wouldn't you? Have a look at the following dolls, some of the coolest I've ever found on the internet.

ABBA dolls made and released by Matchbox in 1978

"The world's most successful pop group, captured here in miniature for fans to own. Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Björn all set to repeat their world wide music success, this time across the toy counter."
I'd like to have at least a Benny and a Frida!

Nowadays I'd like to have these four momijis
They're completely different from the usual dolls

What are they dancing?

Let's face it: neither Frida nor Anna were very skillful for dancing on stage. They did have a lot of fun there together - especially Frida, who used to be a little more cheerful while performing -, although, as a matter of fact, none of them were very... hmm... coordinate with it. But we cannot fail to recognize that their marvellous voices and dance movements, combined to Benny and Björn's amazing music, brought to ABBA performances what we call magic.

ABBA girls did some choreography lessons during the time of the band, as the one for Dancing Queen, which is one of their most famous. Can you imagine which song they did the move dances below for?

I guess it was Honey, Honey...

... or S.O.S.

Have you seen this?

I don't know how many of you have already seen Benny's younger granddaughter, but, until yesterday, I had never seen a picture of her before. So you can imagine how delighted I was when I found out the photo below. Benny's granddaughter - whose name is Viola, according to a reader of my blog - is such a sweetie!

Crazy for you

This is a post for Benny and Frida's fans who use to jump off the chair every time they find out a new picture of the couple - just like me.

Do you remember what I wished in Young love?
I was so happy when I found out this picture!

Now she is...

... 66!
On November 15th, 1945, Frida was born. She has passed through a lot of experiences in her life, but, regardless of happy or sad moments, what always stands out in Frida's behaviour and feelings is the best of her. In other words, love is what invariably leads Frida's steps, making her character even stronger and, her heart, more open and generous. That's why I love her and I will always admire her.

Enjoying them once again

As I promissed, here's the continuation for Don't you enjoy them?.

Don't you enjoy them?

I don't know about you, but, as I love ABBA, Frida and Benny & Frida (Ohh! Really?!), I simply love to find out rare pictures of them. Some of my findings may not be as notable for everyone as they are for me, I'm sure they may really be news for many people, though. So here I'm sharing with you some of the rarest ABBA photos I've found on the last months. Hope you like it!

Agnetha is really looking like Barbie here
But could Björn be Ken?

ABBA in Waterloo, Belgium, in 1974

ABBA on the German TV show Disco in 1975

In Australia in March 1976

Sometimes we may find one or another alternate from a photo shoot that is pretty well-known...

... and it really makes us happy!

Posting again

Hi, my dear readers! How are you? I hope you have had a great time during the last two months. I'm sorry for the long waiting, but now I'm back to do new posts.

Enjoy it!

Thanks

Hi, my dear readers,

Firstly, I would like to apologize for my long and unusual silence for so many weeks. I've been very busy lately, so that I couldn't do new posts for you. Actually I'm going to be busy for the next two months, so I'm not going to post here during that time. I'd like to emphasize that it is not a good bye. It's only a suspension of my activities for a while.

Secondly, I'd like to thank you very much for all your support and appreciation for my work on Thank You For The Music, ABBA since I created the blog. In fact, it's turning two years old in the next August 29th and it makes me very happy, as I didn't expect it could happen when I started doing my work here. You can be sure it's only going on because of the great feedback I've been receiving from you, my readers.

Love,
Karen

It's ABBA, babies!

Who doesn't like babies' pictures? They are sweet, smiling and, when they have plump cheeks and feet, they are simply irresistible! When we think about ABBA members as babies, then, we do have a great photo album.

Baby Frida was only 5 months old at that time...

Here she was a year and a half old
She was already so incredibly cute, don't you think?

Probably frightened by the photographer here...

When I saw this picture for the very first time I could only think:
"Awww, how CUTE Benny was!"

I think Benny makes women falling in love with him since he was a baby...

I got really crazy when I saw this one...
Smiley

Posing for the picture with his cute younger sister, Eva-Lis

Agnetha's biting her little fat hand!

Pretty Agnetha playing among some chickens

Baby Björn looking like he is going to cry...
I'm not sure if there are more Björn's pictures as a baby available to us, but, if they exist, unfortunately I don't know them
